Materuni Waterfall Hike and Coffee Plantation Tour
I highly recommend this waterfall hike and coffee plantation tour in Tanzania. Everything went exceptionally well from start to finish.
The transportation to and from our hotel was arranged seamlessly, making the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. The waterfall hike was beautiful, fun, and offered stunning scenery along the way. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the area.
The coffee plantation tour was equally impressive. It was fascinating to learn about the coffee-making process and gain insight into the local culture and traditions. To top it all off, the meal provided was absolutely delicious and a perfect complement to the day’s activities.
Overall, this was a memorable experience with excellent organization, knowledgeable guides, and great hospitality. I would gladly recommend it to anyone visiting Tanzania.
Adventure of a Lifetime
I visited Tanzania and Zanzaibar July 2026 with the Terreta foundation and Nuru escapes and it was literally the adventure of a lifetime.
I was lucky enough to be with a group of women that were absolutely incredible. The first week we spent in Tanzania , exploring hikes and local culture and visiting the amazing terreta foundation school and meeting the kids. I was privileged to have celebrated my birthday that day , along with my sister and a beautiful girl Jasmine in the school. The most unforgettable birthday I will ever have.
Lenore and Teddy were spectacular hosts and brilliant guides. As was Rebman and his team keeping us safe and keeping up the good vibes for all our adventures.
The second week in Zanzibar was stunning. The people in both places were friendly and kind and the ocean was warm and beautiful, it felt like a postcard.
I didn’t want to leave. I can’t wait to go back some day !
Amazing
Absolute trip of a lifetime I recommend anyone to do it, life changing so much love to everyone 🫶
Tanzania and Zanzibar 2026
This trip was planned in 2025 and I had plenty of time to anticipate it. However everything surpassed all of my expectations. The organisation the professionalism, the country but above all the people. It will stay with me always. ❤️
Holiday of A lifetime
The most amazing experience of my life with the most beautiful companions. The staff were absolutely fantastic, couldn’t do enough for us. I would highly recommend this holiday to everyone xxx
Adventure, relaxation and mindfulness
I was one of fifteen woman that travelled to Tanzania and Zanzibar in July 2026. Ages ranged from 26 years old to over 70 years old. Some were family, some were friends and some I had never met but due to the organisational skills of Nuru Escape we quickly bonded and had great fun together.
We trecked to Maruni waterfall and enjoyed the swim in the plunge pool. Later in the week we trecked to base camp on Kilimanjaro , another fantastic adventure, although hard work for the more mature of us, our guides made sure we got there safely. A great sense of achievement. We went to a safari in the Serengeti, visited the Masi Tribe and learned about their history and culture.
Our second week in Zanzibar was relaxing on the edge of the Indian ocean. What beautiful sights and terrific food. Morning meditation and an exercise on self reflection brought us all together in a more meaningful way.
I can’t say enough about the trip . Nuru Escapes did a brilliant job while helping the under privileged children of Tereta Foundation.
Well done to all involved especially to Lenore and Teddy. The love you showed the children was very obvious in the childrens happy faces.
Keep up the good work, the world needs people like you.
Exceeded all expectations
I recently went on tour with Nuru escapes on what can only be described as a once in a lifetime experience. Our group of 15 started in Tanzania with breath taking views, amazing tours and laughter from start to finish. We were so well taken care of from hiking on Kilimanjaro to experiencing Maasai culture to hand feeding giraffes at a local wildlife reserve. And of course there was the dancing!
We then flew to Zanzibar for white sand beaches, crystal blue ocean and more fantastic local tours. The food, music and atmosphere made way for life long memories, bonds and friendships to be made.
The whole experience was made more meaningful by the fact that profits made by the tour went directly back into the Teretta foundation, where guides Lenore and Teddy work tirelessly to support the children of Tanzania that are in most need of help and care.
I couldn’t recommend this trip highly enough or the tour group that brought us along the way. Thank you Nuru Escapes and thank you Teretta x
The ultimate getaway
Our trip with Nuru Escapes and the Teretta Foundation exceeded every expectation. This wasn’t just a holiday—it was a life-changing experience that we’ll treasure forever.
Despite a difficult start with flight cancellations and then our luggage being lost, Lenore and her incredible team immediately stepped in. They rearranged our collection without any fuss, took care of the luggage situation, and removed all the stress from our shoulders. Knowing everything was being handled allowed us to enjoy the trip from the moment we arrived.
From the very beginning, we felt completely safe, supported, and genuinely cared for. Our group ranged in age from 26 to 70, and every activity was organised so thoughtfully that everyone could take part comfortably and enjoy the experience at their own pace. Nobody was left behind, and everyone felt included.
The safari was beyond anything we could have imagined, the coffee tour and cultural experiences were fascinating, and Zanzibar was the perfect ending to an incredible journey. Every day brought new adventures, breathtaking scenery, and unforgettable moments.
One of the most inspiring parts of the trip was visiting the Teretta School and seeing first-hand the incredible work being done by the Teretta Foundation. Meeting the children, teachers, and community gave us a much deeper appreciation of what this trip helps to support. It was humbling, emotional, and a reminder that there are still truly wonderful people in this world making a real difference. A special shout-out to Teddy—your kindness, dedication, and passion touched all of our hearts.
What made this trip truly special, though, was the amazing group we shared it with. From the endless laughs and karaoke on the bus journeys to the emotional moments that brought us all closer together, every day created memories we’ll cherish forever. We arrived as strangers and left as friends, with friendships that we know will last a lifetime.
A heartfelt thank you to Lenore, the entire Nuru Escapes team, and the Teretta Foundation for your kindness, professionalism, and genuine passion. You didn’t just organise an amazing holiday—you created an experience that touched our hearts and changed us. The memories we’ve brought home are priceless, and we cannot recommend you highly enough.
Thank you for giving us the adventure of a lifetime.

A trip of a life time
Such an incredible experience from start to finish. Full of adventure, laughter, great food and of course spectacular nature! All the tour guides were so fun and understanding of everyone’s fitness abilities . Made new friends and wonderful memories I’ll never forget ♥️
Difficult to describe in words.
What started as a chat with a friend in a car park turned into the trip of a lifetime.
A group of us, aged 25-70, headed to Tanzania and Zanzibar just over two weeks ago. From the minute we landed we knew this wasn’t going to be an ordinary holiday. We were each given a personalised diary with our itinerary, what we’d be doing each day and even what to pack, so all we had to do was turn up and enjoy it.
We hiked to waterfalls, experienced a coffee plantation from bean to cup, met the Maasai people and learned about their culture and traditions, spent a day hiking the AMAZING Mount Kilimanjaro, walked through the Serengeti on safari and swam in hot springs an oasis in the middle of a desert.
One of the most special parts of the trip was spending time with the children at the Teretta Foundation. Meeting them, hearing about their stories, sharing moments and seeing the incredible work being done there was something we will never forget. It reminded us that this journey was about so much more than the places we visited.
Then came Zanzibar. Stunning accommodation, catamaran trips, traditional dhow boats, incredible baobab trees, crystal-clear lagoons, secret beaches, sandbanks in the middle of the Indian Ocean, and wandering through Stone Town, steeped in history and full of character.
The biggest part for me wasn’t just the places we saw, it was how the journey changed us. It healed us all in ways we never expected and gave us a different perspective on life. The memories, friendships and moments shared will stay with us forever.
A huge thank you to Nuru Escapes who guided us each step of the way paying special care to my mammy, I will always appreciate that, Nuru’s partnership with the Teretta Foundation means this is so much more than a holiday. Knowing that our trip helps support over 100 children who otherwise wouldn’t have the care they need made every experience even more meaningful.
This wasn’t just a holiday. It was an adventure with purpose, and one I’ll never ever forget. ❤️
